Different generations meet on stage

After a month of initial rehearsals, choreographer, performer and theatre maker Ehsan Hemat presents the work in progress of his new show. Hemat, who was born in Shiraz, Iran, and has now been based in Brussels for several years, devised a concept in which different generations meet on stage. One generation is represented by his uncle Asghar, a classically trained actor from Iran. Now in his seventies, Asghar embodies a completely different Zeitgeist than his young nephew.

A in the role of B when C didn’t make it’ becomes a reflection in time: of evolutions versus traditions, in the arts and life in general. The premiere is set for 2023, but NTGent and les ballets C de la B are organising this advanced preview, which is to take place at Minnemeers, spread over three dates, as part of the first edition of GIF.
